Stretchly for MAC
Free, open-source break reminder for Mac: short mini breaks and longer breaks with ideas to stretch, rest your eyes and move.
Stretchly Overview
Stretchly reminds you to take breaks while you work on your computer. It lives in the menu bar and, by default, shows a 20-second mini break every 10 minutes and a 5-minute long break every 30 minutes, each with an idea for what to do, such as stretching, resting your eyes or getting up to move. You are told a few seconds before each break so you can finish what you are doing, and you can postpone a break once or skip it after a while. When you step away from the computer for 5 minutes, breaks pause until you are back.
Every part of this can be changed in the preferences, from the break lengths and intervals to the look of the break window. Stretchly is free and open source under the BSD-2-Clause license, made by Jan Hovancik and contributors and translated into many languages. Version 1.22.1 needs macOS 13 Ventura or later and has separate downloads for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It is also available for Windows and Linux.

MysaMysa is a tiny menu bar app for Mac that makes you take a breather. Press its shortcut or click its icon and the screen goes frosted and dim, a small orb breathes in and out, and a line of text writes itself across the screen in handwriting while you breathe, drawing on as you inhale and undrawing as you exhale. Press Escape and you are back to work.Health & Fitness
ReposeRepose is a free, open-source break reminder that lives in the Mac menu bar. It counts down your work interval next to the clock, and when the time is up it dims your screen with a gentle reminder to look away and rest your eyes. When the break is over, the cycle starts again. Pause, resume, restart and every setting are in the menu itself, so there is no separate preferences window.Health & Fitness
Time OutTime Out gently reminds you to step away from your Mac, stretch, rest your eyes or take a breath. It comes with a longer Normal break for getting up and moving and a brief Micro break to relax in between. You can change their length and frequency, add your own breaks for lunch or a stretch, and turn off any you do not need. A break can be a quiet reminder or a screen-filling scene, and the floating controls let you postpone, skip or end it early.Health & Fitness
